Software Test Engineer

Role:

A Limerick based innovative software and integration Technology Company requires a Software Test Engineer. You will participate in a fast paced agile development team building enterprise grade software systems. Design and build advanced software solutions that scale across hundreds of servers and meet aggressive fault tolerance standards. Learn and leverage the latest methodologies and technologies, including Scrum, and more.  Essential Job Functions: Creates and manages automated test cases using FitNesse. Works with Engineering and other organizations to develop quality plans and processes. Possesses solid understanding of Agile testing methods. Possesses deep understand of multiple business/technology arena (such as eCommerce, Online Auctions, Web Transaction Processing, Inventory Management, Online Search or Store-front Applications).  Able to quickly learn new technology and business areas and to apply these to new projects and products.  Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills. Able to deal effectively with internal and external staff, vendors, clients. 

Job Specifications: BS degree. 3 or more years experience in software development, project management, or systems development. 2 or more years Software Quality Assurance experience. Experience working in an “agile” environment and using “Continuous Integration”Broad understanding of Risk Based Testing and the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to take that knowledge of risk and apply it within the scope of an Agile Software Development Life Cycle. The ability to influence others within SCRUM Teams advocating quality initiatives and best practices including TDD, Pair Programming, Continuous Integration and Sprint Doneness. Insight and working knowledge/experience of test design in both a manual and automated framework.  Strong understanding of technologies and frameworks such as SOA, SAS, XML, Visual Basic, SOAP, ASP, and SQL. Analyst skills and understanding of Risk Based Testing, Root Cause Analysis, Data Driven Testing, Model Driven Testing, Modular Test Design and Keyword Driven Testing.
